Uninstalling the server

For uninstalling TMD server, you simply need to launch the uninstall script:

% sudo ./unsinstall-tmdserver.sh

The script will kill the tmdserver and tmdagent processes and delete all the directories. However, you can still check the log files in /var/tmp/tmd/server directory.

It’s not strictly required, but you should also remove all the “Privacy & Security” permissions from tmdagent:

– Go to the ‘Settings’ window
– Click on ‘Privacy & Security’ in the left menu

– Click on ‘Accessibility’ in the right menu
– Click on ‘tmdagent’ item and then press ‘-‘ button to remove

– Click on ‘Screen & System Audio Recording’ in the right menu
– Click on ‘tmdagent’ item and then press ‘-‘ button to remove

If you need to install a different version of TMD in the future, then you need to uninstall the previous version and remove all the ‘Privacy & Security’ settings associated to tmdagent, before the new version of TMD is installed.

Notes:

If you install a new version without removing all the ‘Privacy & Security’ settings associated to tmdagent, you may get stuck in this persistent window after the new version is installed:

If you click on ‘Open System Settings’ or ‘Deny’, the window will open again forever. It happens because the new setting is associated to the same executable path but with a different binary.

To fix the issue, you need to manually remove the old  ‘Privacy & Security’ settings associated to tmdagent and click on ‘Open System Settings’. The operating system will add automatically the disabled setting in the ‘Accessibility’ or ‘Screen & System Audio Recording’ page, so you need you go and enable it again.
